A spoolie picks up a metered dose and lays it along the hair edge. Too wet and it darkens the hairline; too dry and it drags. We tune the serum viscosity to the bristle density, not the other way round.
A paste has to be warmed on the fingers and then spreads past where you wanted it. A wand deposit stays local. That difference is the whole category — and it is a packaging decision before it is a formula one.
